Privacy Policy

Kissou has no ads, no tracking and no analytics. You don't need an email address or a phone number to use it. What you create in Kissou is only shown to your partner, and you can delete it all from the app at any time.
Who we are
Kissou is published by Rocket Social, which is responsible for the data described here. For any question about your data, write to contact@kissou.app.
What we store
Your anonymous account
On first launch, the app creates an account made of a random identifier. We also store the platform (iOS) and when the app last connected. We don't ask for your name, email address or phone number. The session key that keeps you signed in is stored only in hashed form on our server.
Your space
When you pair your phones, we store the first name or nickname you each choose, the date you got together and the pairing code.
What you create together
Notes, doodles, kisses, "open when" letters, scheduled notes, your answers to the questions, your games, the shared board, Kissou (its name, the care you give it, its hearts and items) and your daily missions. All of this is shared with your partner, and only with them.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, we store your device's push token so we can tell your partner's actions to your phone when the app is closed.
Kissou+
Payments are handled by Apple. If you subscribe, Apple sends us a signed record of the purchase: transaction identifiers, the plan, its dates and whether it renews. We never see your card or your Apple ID.
Technical logs
Our server records the IP address, the date and the address requested for each connection. These logs are kept for 14 days, for security and to fix problems. The app also sends your phone's time zone so that the daily missions follow your calendar; it is not stored.
Why we use it
- To provide Kissou: show your partner what you send, keep both phones in sync, send notifications and unlock Kissou+ for both of you. This is necessary to provide the service you ask for.
- To keep the service secure and working (technical logs). This is our legitimate interest.
We don't sell your data, we don't use it for advertising and we don't build profiles.
Who else sees it
- Your partner sees what you share in your space.
- Hetzner Online (Germany) hosts our server.
- MongoDB Atlas (MongoDB, Inc.) hosts our database.
- Apple delivers notifications (a notification can contain the text of a note) and handles in-app purchases.
These providers process data only to run Kissou, on our behalf.
How long we keep it
Your space and everything in it are kept as long as the space exists. In the app, Settings › Leave our space › Delete everything immediately deletes the space and all its content, for both of you. Settings › Delete my account goes further: it also deletes your account itself, your sessions and your notification tokens. Technical logs are deleted after 14 days.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct, delete or export your data, and object to how it's used, by writing to contact@kissou.app. If you're not satisfied with our answer, you can contact your data protection authority; in France, that's the CNIL (cnil.fr).
Security
All exchanges between the app and our server are encrypted (HTTPS). Access to the server and the database is restricted.
Children
Kissou is not meant for children under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
